After seeing a few pictures pop up on social media back in 2011 of a  strange but very regal dog called Fu-long we did some online research but unfortunately we couldn’t find any more information about this wonderful breed. fast forward a few years, we notice the breed has started to be imported from China into Russia and Serbia and still very little information anywhere online about the Chinese Chongqing breed. 2 years later its 2016 and we noticed puppies have been born and that’s  where our journey began. we contacted both breeders in Russia and Serbia and after a lot of questions and information about the breed. we made our first purchase of a little male from Russia and a female from Serbia. March 2017 the very first Chinese Chongqing dog arrived to the UK/Ireland, Our boy Keyser, and shortly followed a few weeks later by our girl Karma. we absolutely fell in love and quickly set out to see what we could do to help preserve this wonderful breed. The first step we made was to find a way to contact the Chinese Chongqing breeders in China. through these breeders we found out that the breed had a club called CHINESE CHONGQING DOG CLUB (CCDC) where they kept records of the breed, had monthly newsletters and also local shows where all the breeders came along to showcase their dogs. Through the club we got to learn so much about the breed, learnt about the breed standard that they had and used for the club shows and to become members and register our dogs with them. November 2017 we decided to travel to the world dog show in Leipzig to promote the breed, Keyser was the perfect representative he took it all in his stride he was centre of attention for the full weekend at the show, meeting lots of new people, a lot of photographs were taken and we got asked so many questions about the breed. The end of 2017 we got the news that some more Chongqing dogs had arrived in the UK with Andrew Rushton who we became good friends with and together in 2017 we started THE CHONGQING DOG CLUB UK. together as a club we managed to secure our first registration to allow us to show our breed, 25th March 2018 we had our very first show together with 7 Chongqing dogs showing in Ireland, with the great success of the show we managed to secure another registration  to allow us to show at their shows which was on November 2018, where Keyser managed to get reserve best in show. 6TH December 2018 we made history again and had ours and the UK/IRELAND very first litter of Chongqing puppies.

April 2017 China Kennel Union told the Chinese Chongqing Dog Club that they would like to add the breed to their native breed programme which would be an giant step for our breed, A new breed standard was also released by the CKU. 2018 we decided to take another trip to the World dog show which was in Amsterdam and again we had a lot of attention, everyone was amazed by this rare and unique breed and we finally managed to meet the representatives of the CKU and the new native breed programme president Mr Franki Leung, With the CKU now taken registrations for our breed we now had to start back from scratch and every dog will now be registered as single registration and must be accompanied by bloods for DNA of each dog and photographs of them to verify that they met the standard for registration. registration did take a few months but we were so happy when they finally arrive. With the news that the CKU has now taken on our breed and will be hosting the next world dog show where our breed will finally be seen showing at one of the biggest events in the show world our breed seemed to really take of, numbers were growing rapidly, new litters being born in a lot of countries,  new countries allowing us to show in FCI group 11. 2023 we are now showing in 23 countries, what an achievement for our breed in such a few years.
